Why a climbing event?
Climbing is challenging fun! You have to work at it – physically and mentally – but the feelings of accomplishment are well worth the effort.
Climbing is new! Most people have never even tried climbing before, so a climbing event will likely be a novel experience for your group.
Climbing inherently improves group dynamics! Teamwork, leadership, responsibility, and trust improve as participants work together to overcome their fears of falling and the novelty of climbing.
Why our climbing gym?
With over 9,000 square feet of wall space - 20 ropes worth - and the largest bouldering room around, we have plenty for your group to do. The Gym is locally owned and operated by a small staff dedicated to the sport and passionate about teaching.
What do we provide?
We provide all the climbing gear you’ll need, including harnesses, shoes, ropes, belay devices, and carabiners. The facility has plenty of climbing for participants of different abilities. You’ll also have our viewing room with table and chairs for whatever food you may bring along.
Who should come?
A climbing event is best for 6 to 10 participants. There is absolutely no experience necessary. General athletic ability is helpful but not required. Any group considering new ways to improve their dynamics should contact us to brainstorm how we might meet your particular goals.
Events generally last about 3 hours. While each program will be customized to suit the group, we generally start with our staff leading the group through a brief introduction of climbing at the gym. Participants then climb at various stations, using roped climbing and bouldering. We usually stop for a group break midway through to discuss progress and goals for the second half of the program. We then climb again for the remaining ~hour, which is usually all that beginner muscles can handle! Ropes-course style initiatives can also be incorporated throughout the event.
